We have an exciting and interesting time at Glenbrook School. There are so many different things we can do.

Calf Club Day 2007

Although we had to all dodge a few days, Calf Club Day at Glenbrook School was fantastic. There were a record number of lambs entered.

Calf Club Day is a special event at a country school and the children had worked hard for months to prepare their animals, grow gardens, and create projects about living things.

Our School Show: Showtime At Sea

There have been some strange sights at Glenbrook School recently: a crew of pirates has been causing mayhem on a beach; jellyfish, mermaids, sharks, dolphins and octopi have been seen dancing and singing; a waddle of penguins, were all dressed up looking very smart in their top hats and bow ties; and children and lifeguards have been out in their summer gear enforcing sun sense and surf safety.

It is in fact the school musical production, Show Time At Sea. The whole school worked on this play throughout term two, and on Tuesday and Wednesday of the final week, the families and community got to enjoy the colourful spectacle as the children gave it their all on stage. The school hall was transformed into a beach and the walls were covered in fabulous artwork that the children had done in class. It was a great demonstration of all the classes working together to produce a fantastic show. A small team of older students controlled the sound and lighting, designed and printed the programmes, and helped backstage.

Glenbrook School is very appreciative of our supportive parent community who helped with making costumes, sourcing the lighting and sound equipment and getting the students ready on the nights for their big performances. The children have all been fantastic, many struggling through winter colds and flus, with some quickly learning lines to fill in for a sick actor, because you know the saying…THE SHOW MUST GO ON! And what a superb show it was.
