The School Councilllors for 2010 are:

Glenbrook School Council

The role of the School Council

The students will be expected to

·         Lead school assemblies

·         Assist in the operation of the assemblies

·         Have input into inviting guest speakers and groups to perform

·         Fund raise to pay for these groups

·         Be a welcoming group for visitors to the school

·         Hosts / hostesses for school functions

·         Conduct class meetings on a regular basis and report ideas, concerns and opinions to council meetings

 ·         Meet with the Principal on a regular basis to report on school, playground and classroom activities and successes

·         Attend School Council meetings and hold positions of responsibility on the Council

·         Organise special events eg mufti days as agreed by the school

There is an expectation that the students selected are responsible, capable and innovative and are there to promote the school to all. Any student who throughout the year does not carry out their responsibilities in an acceptable manner, after staff discussion, will be warned and then replaced on the Council if the behaviour attitude persists. Parents will be contacted and have the situation explained should this unlikely event happen.

Meetings for the School Councillors will be held during school time and during the lunch time break. There will be a balance of meeting times.
